Why use LigniCore products?
Our achievements
Bio-based traffic signs
During a 3-year project funded by InfraSweden, bio-based traffic signs were designed and tested outdoors. These signs were made of LigniSet® resin and reinforced with fibers and fillers.
Cycling road pavements
A short project funded by the program LIGHTer Småföretag allowed us to explore asphalt-like pavements using LigniFlex® in a very specific context. Our partner Modular Cycling, a Göteborg-based start-up, designs wooden cycling path modules to improve urban mobility.
Mistra SafeChem
We are part of one of the leading research initiatives in green chemistry, where we will take part in a case study focusing on the environmental impact of bio-based thermosetting resins.

A key resource to a sustainable society
Fossil carbon will not suddenly stop being extracted unless viable and abundant alternatives arise. Now, what if one third of all plant biomass could be used to manufacture a multitude of materials we all use every day, instead of being burned?
Lignin is potentially available in massive quantities as an industrial residue, but it is currently largely combusted or used in applications with a very low added value. The tremendous potential of this abundant resource is being wasted, as demands and opportunities fail to meet. This is where we come in.
LigniCore is an environmental technology provider and a developer of lignin-based renewable materials. Specializing in the valorization of lignin residual streams, from forestry residues or from various agricultural sectors, we cover a broad range of materials. LigniCore’s patented processes for various chemical modifications of lignin allow for a simpler incorporation in complex systems that constitute some of today’s most commonly used materials. By substituting fossil-based components with lignin-based equivalents, thanks to inexpensive and easily scalable manufacturing routes, we aim at broadening the offer for renewable and climate-smart materials while maintaining competitive prices. Give our materials a try and bring our society one step closer to our ambitious climate goals!
