In 2023, after 10 years working at RenFuel on lignin esters to develop tomorrow’s sustainable biofuels and biocomposites, our team had an unexpected breakthrough in the lab. A new combination of lignin with biobased hardeners to create a thermoset resin which, in combination with natural fibers, can form fully biobased performance composites. LigniCore was born! With 4 registered trademarks, including our flagship LigniSet®, and after several successful granted projects, collaborations and demonstrations, it was high time for our materials business to grow into its own company.

This is what LigniCore is today, striving to push innovative lignin-based materials to the market, offering products with unprecedentedly low carbon footprints to key industrial sectors.
