WISE Industrial Post-doc

We have been granted an industrial post-doctoral project from the ambitious WISE programme, who aims to revolutionise materials science in Sweden. The project started in August 2025 and is conducted by Marie Hartwig-Nair, who will both work as a Research Scientist at LigniCore and as post-doc at Uppsala University, under the supervision of Associate Professor Malin Wohlert. The collaboration with WISE is facilitated by the SuPRA platform, which gathers major industrial actors and universities and drives initiatives related to sustainable polymers.

The project title is ”A novel material design process for biobased composites by employing predictive computational modelling”. The goal is to develop systematic predictive tools to further optimise LigniSet-based composites, with a strong focus on fiber-matrix adhesion. This will allow us to make the best out of the lignin we use and to better understand how natural fibers and fillers can be used optimally to yield fully biobased composites with high performance.
